Body Positive facilitates a range of educational events throughout the year, both for people living with HIV and also anyone else that would like to engage and up-skill in the sector.
In addition to our regular services, we also often run social events throughout the year for people living with HIV in New Zealand, to provide a safe space to meet others and share experiences.

Sunday 17th May 2026
The oldest tradition against HIV / AIDS held annually around New Zealand and across the world.
The International AIDS Candlelight Memorial is a time for all of us to remember the many lives lost to AIDS. It is an opportunity to honour those who dedicated their lives to helping people living with and affected by HIV and continue to mobilise our communities in solidarity. People living with HIV started the International AIDS Candlelight Memorial in 1983 and since then there have been thousands of events organised across the world by community-based organisations. Such events have helped raise awareness about HIV and more importantly have helped break down stigma within our communities.
If you would like to host an AIDS Candlelight Memorial in your region this year, Body Positive can provide support & assistance. Please contact us for details.
